Asian American Group was started in 1993 by Dr. Peter Lok. In 2002 the group's leadership was passed in able hands of Mr. Mike Vaswani. Thereafter AAG became a registered entity and also signed up associations for affiliations.
The Asian American Group was created to establish dialogue between ethinc groups in the Asian American community to encourage a better understanding and appreciation of their cultural diversity and to promote:
- Voter education and encourage voter participation.
- A better understanding of goverment and how it operates.
- Foster communication with our civic leaders and create understading of the inherent cultural diversity within our community.
- Work with the varied organizations within our community to improve the exchange of ideas.
To fulfill its mission, the AAG strives to strengthen the unity between government and citizens, to enchance the means and opportunities of the Asian community in Nevada.
Asian American Group exists to help foster the success and development of Asian Americans in our community. We do this predominately by uniting our groups and individuals of various cultures, and the political and business realm, by having organized casual and formal venues and activities for socialization, networking, and learning.
We welcome Asian-American community to get together in a one shelter.
